| The Desert Winds Freedom Band was founded by Gary Moline in the Fall of 2001. The Band is a diverse group open to all gay and gay-friendly people who like to play concert band music. It serves the greater Palm Springs, California area located in the beautiful Coachella Valley. The Band has a core of dedicated musicians who love to make music together. Some are professionals and others haven't played since they graduated from high school many years ago. Requirements: Prospective band members are required to read music, to have basic skills playing a band instrument, to attend rehearsals one night each week and to regularly participate in concerts. We are always welcoming new musicians on all instruments. At this time, we would like to have a few more clarinets, more percussion, and double reeds. Don't be shy! Dust off that drum, check the pads on your woodwinds, oil your valves and come give it a try!! |
